BodyDreaming Training
Body Dreaming training aims to provide already accredited professionals - therapists, coaches, body workers, teachers, medical personal, lawyers, artists etc. - with an embodied approach that supports them as practitioners and their clients in these dysregulated times.
Mission
Body Dreaming training draws on our own innate capacity for self-regulation through working with the nervous system, embodied active imagination, play and dreams, and most importantly in connection with nature and the environment we find ourselves in. The training focuses on building a connection to the Self guiding principle -Jung's notion of the Self. This holding principle is the ground of our BSR work, guiding our bodysouls in becoming who we are meant to be.
The training focuses on the nervous system, creating an understanding of trauma and in particular on developmental trauma, transgenerational trauma, trauma as a result of post- colonial and caste systems. It aims to build a greater awareness and sense of co-regulation with the living environment around us. We are not alone. We exist in a participatory field with all life that, too, is part of the self-regulating matrix. We belong in our bodies among other breathing, sensing, living bodies.
Ultimately the training should bring us into a state of greater coherence in ourselves, with awareness of our participation in a dynamic interconnected field that is informed by the principle of self-regulation and wholeness. I would hope we contribute to developing a greater consciousness in humanity at this time one that connects us to soul - our bodysoul that is co-joined with the bodysoul of Earth.
Components
The BodyDreaming training is based on modules taught over a 3-year period, 3 modules per year.
In order to receive the Certificate of Completion participants are required to participate in all 9 modules, which will be held online. In addition, participants are strongly recommended to attend an in-person BodyDreaming / BodySoul workshop – either mask or fairy tale.
Each of the 9 modules builds incrementally on the previous one. If you have missed previous modules, you will be offered the opportunity to watch recordings of previous sessions, once you have registered. However, before final completion, you will be required to attend the modules you have missed.
The training weekends are comprised of theory and practice, experiential learning and embodied practice sessions, dream work, movement, voice work, ritual and art. We will work in large group sessions and in small break-out practice sessions. We have a large group of assistants providing containment and guidance for the small break out practice sessions. Each small break-out group will have an assistant present.
We recommend that you have at least one personal session with one of the Assistants or an approved Provider in between each module. For completion we require that you have a minimum of 8 personal sessions over the three year period.
We also recommend that you form practice/study groups where you can practice the exercises and read the material together to build understanding and gain experience. Some groups may wish to invite an Assistant to guide their learning – that is the choice of each group.
